What They Say...

"I had been consistently astounded by the way in which their methods for the visualization and clarification of reasoning processes enables one to impose order on chaos and see what is really going on in complex, contentious and tangled debates..."
- Dr Neil Byron, former Commissioner, Productivity Commission

"They are making a significant contribution to the improvement of analytical standards in the public policy arena, particularly among young professionals. Austhink deserves the country's thanks for this."
- Ross Babbage, Founder, Kokoda Foundation

 "Austhink's methods for dissecting and clarifying complex pieces of analysis or public policy are first class."
- LTGEN (ret) Peter Leahy, former Chief of Army

"That Austhink has devised new methods for doing this is enormously to its credit and I only hope more businesses will start to adopt such methods. It will save an immense amount of money, time and frustration for them."

Casemaking

With its expertise in visual deliberation, Austhink can assist your team or organisation to mount the strongest possible case for some contention (policy, action, proposition, etc.)

Casemaking includes:

  • Articulating the strongest supporting arguments and evidence;
  • Anticipating objections and counterarguments, and where appropriate rebutting or undermining them;
  • Presenting the relevant arguments in the most clear and compelling manner.

Unlike lawyers or other consultants, we do not make the case for you.  Rather, we work with you, complementing your in-depth domain knowledge with our generic expertise in rigorous and transparent argumentation.

Example – Sustainability Prize

A large corporate engaged Austhink to work with their team on a project aimed at winning a major international prize recognizing sustainability.  The team had pulled together the ingredients for a strong case but were having trouble articulating and presenting the arguments in a compelling manner.   The Austhink consultant, working “hands on” alongside team members, polished the logic and presentation of the case. The organisation won the award.
