Cognitive Process Improvement

Every organisation has processes through which its knowledge is generated and decisions made.  Sometimes these processes are severely deficient.  More typically, there is scope for improved efficiency and quality of output.  Drawing on our expertise in cognitive science, and our experience working with many different organisations, Austhink is able to provide objective, insightful reviews of cognitive processes and propose enhancements.

Example – Validation of Processes

A major government security agency commissioned Austhink to review, from a cognitive science perspective, the framework it had developed to guide their analysts in early processing of incoming information.  Our innovative report relied heavily on visual language and was delivered as two large charts.

Example – Review of Operational Decision Making

A military organisation was grappling with the widespread sense that there were problems with its official method for making operational decisions.  It commissioned Austhink to review the method and its implementation in light of worldwide best practice and insights from cognitive science.  Austhink delivered a substantial report with numerous recommendations.
