About the Workshops

Austhink Consulting has teamed up with leading board consultant and trainer Julie Garland Mclellan to offer a series of one-day workshops in decision making at board level.

The “Dealing with Director’s Dilemmas” workshops aim to help improve leadership and decision making in organisations by building the skills of individual directors.

Participants will be introduced to Austhink’s argument mapping techniques and practice them on a series of realistic case studies of the kind found in Julie Garland Mclellan’s new book Dilemmas Dilemmas.

Participants will be better able to:

  • rigorously analyze complex decision problems of the kind faced by boards
  • communicate their thinking to other board members
  • work collaboratively on a decision problem with other board members
  • document the thinking behind a board decision
  • defend the reasonableness of the board decision, if needed
  • mentor others in board-type decision making
