CogNexus

CogNexus, via its Director, Dr. Jeffrey Conklin, is a preeminent provider of visual sensemaking services for wicked problem solving. Conklin has pioneered the dialogue mapping and issue mapping techniques, and developed supporting software. He is the author of Dialogue Mapping: Creating Shared Understanding of Wicked Problems. CogNexus is based in Napa, California.

Austhink’s partnership with CogNexus extends Austhink’s expertise to include facilitation for wicked problem solving based on Cognexus’ distinctive issue mapping and dialogue mapping techniques.

Seven Sigma

Seven Sigma is an IT and business advisory consultancy in Perth, Western Australia, with a special strength in “sensemaking” via dialogue mapping techniques. They have applied their dialogue mapping skills to good effect in assisting with planning processes in the Perth region.

Austhink’s collaboration with Seven Sigma strengthens Austhink’s expertise in the area of mapping-based facilitation for planning and community engagement.

Pherson Associates

Based in Reston VA, Pherson Associates provides analytic, instructional, and management support for the Intelligence Community. Their services include workshops, courses, and consulting over a full range of analytic activities, including building models, frameworks, and processes; collecting and arraying critical data; developing and applying analytic tools and techniques; honing writing and briefing skills; and publishing books and pamphlets.

Austhink’s partnership with Pherson Associates allows each partner to deliver certain products or services developed by the other. This broadens and deepens the range of services each can offer, and extends the reach of each partner, with for example Pherson being able to deliver Austhink’s leading argument mapping training to intelligence organisations in the US.

Robert Horn

Robert E. Horn is a pioneer in the development and application of visual language to complex social problems, particularly wicked problems or what he calls “social messes”. He specializes in the development of large-scale info-graphics providing a window into, and understanding of, these kinds of complex problems.
